Hi, I’m Huma Qazi, founder of the ARQ Foundation, a passion project rooted in love, compassion, and the desire to create meaningful change. I established this foundation in honour of my late brother, Dr. Arshad Qazi, whose life was dedicated to serving others and making a lasting impact in the world. His unwavering commitment to helping the vulnerable inspired me to continue his work, and ARQ Foundation is my way of ensuring that his legacy lives on.
Having witnessed the hardships faced by the most vulnerable—children, orphans, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities—I felt compelled to do more. This foundation was born out of a deep sense of responsibility to make a difference in a world where inequalities are widening, and too many people are left behind. ARQ Foundation is not just a charity; it’s a movement to empower underserved communities, providing them with the tools, resources, and support they need to rebuild their lives and build a brighter future.
In July 2024, we launched our inaugural initiative by providing drinks to approximately 10,000 people during the intense heatwave in Rawalpindi. This effort was critical in meeting an immediate need for relief in extreme weather conditions. By offering essential hydration, we not only addressed a vital concern but also demonstrated our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our community. Additionally, we recognized and deeply appreciated the hard work of our dedicated ARQ volunteers, whose efforts made this mission possible.
Our presence in the community made a significant impact, as we were approached by countless individuals seeking food, drinks, and even employment, reinforcing the need for continued support and expansion of our efforts.
Building on this momentum, in September 2024, we are set to provide food to underserved individuals in Rawalpindi. This initiative marks the next step in our ongoing mission to support those in need, with a focus on creating lasting change and addressing basic needs within the community.
The ARQ Foundation was born out of a deep sense of responsibility to address the inequalities and challenges faced by the most vulnerable in our society. Inspired by the life and legacy of Dr. Arshad Qazi, who dedicated his life to humanitarian work, we recognized the urgent need for an organization that could take meaningful action to support underserved communities.
Witnessing the hardships endured by orphans, the elderly, and those living with disabilities, as well as the lack of access to essential resources and opportunities, we felt compelled to act. We saw firsthand the gaps in education, skills training, and basic care that prevent individuals from reaching their full potential.
The ARQ Foundation was created to bridge those gaps, offering not just short-term relief but long-term solutions that empower individuals to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage. Our mission is to continue Dr. Qazi’s legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
